The biggest scaling mistake I see? Trying to grow the team before you've nailed the standards.
Hiring to fix a billing problem just multiplies the problem. If the behaviours and standards aren't defined when it's just you, they don't magically appear when there's five of you. You end up managing chaos instead of scaling a business.
Get the standard right first. Then add people to it.
