What is going solo actually like?
Freedom first, then reality. Leaving a big organisation feels like doing what you want, when you want. Then it lands that you need a plan, structure and accountability, because nobody checks the standard when you work alone. Going solo works when you rebuild that structure deliberately.
"But if you're working on your own and you're a solo printer and you've left a big organization to do it yourself, you're soft by feeling this is great, I'm free, I can do what I want when I want."
But if you're working on your own and you're a solo printer and you've left a big organization to do it yourself, you're soft by feeling this is great, I'm free, I can do what I want when I want. And then reality hits when you realize that actually you do need a plan. Otherwise you end up chasing your tail all day and then panicking and not doing good business.
So you must have a plan, it's really important. And that's something I work very closely with people to create this plan, make it individual to them and their business and their industry or the lifestyle that they've got. Many people that work for themselves, they also work and do other roles as well.
So they're doing it on a part-time basis, which means that when we do work, we need to be super sharp with where we're spending our time.
